Location Map

For over two decades Bengal Foundation, with the guidance and whole-hearted support of its originator Mr. Abul Khair, has been committed to projecting a culturally rich Bangladesh to a global audience. The Foundation’s efforts have spanned not only the cultural and artistic heritages of Bangladesh but also modern, post-modern and contemporary movements in art, music, literature and performance.

It is with pleasure that the Foundation establishes its fourth arts venue in Dhaka, Daily Star-Bengal Arts Precinct. At this site, Bengal Foundation looks forward to broadening and deepening the scope of its cultural endeavours. Our goal is to build a critical and informative engagement with the arts. We believe that this initiative will complement and extend the work of the Foundation's other arts facilities in Dhaka: Bengal Gallery, Bengal Art Lounge and Safiuddin Bengal Printmaking Studio. With this in view, Bengal Foundation has conceived of the Arts Precinct as a non-commercial arts venue, which will operate purely for the public benefit.

At the Arts Precinct we will continue Bengal Foundation's tradition of presenting art, music, dance, readings, lectures and discussions throughout the year. In addition, the Arts Precinct will also strive to work more broadly with artists and arts professionals by creating opportunities for residencies, grants and commissions; and by supporting research and documentation on culture, heritage and the arts in Bangladesh.
